Jason Probe

President

Jason graduated from the University in Regina with a double major in Political Science and Sociology. His successful career has taken him from Group Specialist in Regina to running the Large Group and Pension office for Desjardin in Calgary. His entrepreneurial drive led him to start Navigate Financial Group in 2002. Having worked both sides, Jason has an insight that is invaluable to his clients. With expansion, Jason has shared his experience, knowledge and integrity across the provinces. He values the relationships he has with his clients and enjoys both the social & professional time he spends with them. Out of office Jason invests his time and efforts to support local children programs. A father of three, he has coached many sports teams. When he isn’t busy at the hockey arena, Jason enjoys traveling with his family.

Kelly White

CEO

A native Calgarian, Kelly holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary and his Group Benefits Associate designation from Dalhousie University.   Kelly is a veteran of the insurance industry with almost 30 years in group benefits, including 15 with a major national insurance carrier.  He brings to Navigate an impressive background in all aspects of benefit plan design, funding, and administration.  He takes pride in delivering great advice and service to plan sponsors and their employees.  When not at work, Kelly fills his spare time with golf and family and devotes time to volunteer efforts in the community.  His family time stays busy through their love of animals – evident by their home full of five dogs!

Emma Nieuwenhuizen

Chief Operating Officer

Emma Nieuwenhuizen, our Chief Operating Officer, brings years of invaluable insurance experience, adeptly driving plan engagement through tailored business solutions. Her hands-on experience in the insurance sector, coupled with a strong foundation in operational efficiency and technical strategies, has been pivotal in refining our company’s approaches. Additionally, her degree in genetics provides a unique, data-driven perspective, further enriching her problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. By seamlessly merging her insurance knowledge with insights from her background, Emma has cultivated a dynamic environment that prioritizes both operational excellence and enhanced insurance experiences. On weekends, Emma enjoys spending time with her partner and their two furry friends, Archer and Gracie.

Nikita McDougall

Chief Client Experience Officer

Nikita began her career in the financial services industry in 2008, prior to joining Navigate she spent ten years with two Canadian insurance carriers. She is invested in ensuring Navigate clients receive the best possible experience, in fact she’s adamant about it. Always up for a challenge, Nikita prides herself on finding solutions and creating clarity. She wants to be the creator of your “Ah-ha!” moment. She enjoys travel (beach please!), trying a new recipe, paddle boarding and hiking. Invite Nikita to your party and hope she brings her spinach dip.

Jared Probe

Branch Manager, Edmonton

Jared is a graduate of NAIT, where he earned a diploma in Computer Systems Technology and later returned as a teacher. Since joining Navigate in 2004, Jared’s great personality, tremendous dedication and ability to provide exemplary customer care is well-known to his clients. During his teaching tenure, he developed the skill of being able to actively listen to clients and effectively determine their needs. Jared played for the Canadian National Rugby team and was short-listed as one of the top 30 players in Canada. His sportsmanship, drive and determination continue to serve him well in his business endeavours. Now a devoted family man, Jared plays on a first division Rugby team when he isn’t busy establishing a base of diverse companies.

Shawn Probe

Business Development Manager, Saskatchewan

Shawn is a graduate of the Business Career College and University of Regina where he graduated with a BEd and Music degree. As well as working as the Business Development manager for the Saskatchewan area Shawn has also found success as the owner and manager of Provista Group. His relatability and sense of humour are an asset in his position as he leads Navigate Financial Group into a new area. Shawn keeps busy with his family of five and enjoys spending time fishing, hunting, sledding and exploring the great outdoors when he isn’t in office.

Emily Fields

Marketing Associate

Emily Fields is our Marketing Specialist, a master of organization and a beacon of happiness in the office. With a perpetual smile and an unwavering commitment to finding companies the coverage that best supports their staff for a fair price, Emily ensures every project flows seamlessly and every deadline is met. Her colleagues find themselves uplifted by her genuine kindness, and her two beloved cats, Ravioli and Nuna, add a touch of humor to her life. Emily’s dedication and organizational prowess make her an invaluable asset to our team, where she not only manages marketing efforts but also brightens our workplace every day.

Austin Dewar

Client Relations

Austin graduated with a psychology degree from Mount Royal University and a Masters of Management degree from the University of Calgary. Having played collegiate basketball, Austin is passionate about teamwork and connecting with others to accomplish important goals.  His previous work experience includes roles in customer service in the banking industry and with the government.  In his spare time, he can be found spending time with his family and friends. Austin enjoys hiking in the mountains, travelling, and playing with his dog.

With over 30 years of experience in the credit union industry, Badriea Taha is an invaluable member of our Navigate Benefit Solutions team. Her expertise drives our client-centric approach, ensuring effective solutions delivered with care. Badriea’s proven track record in boosting membership growth and retention, combined with her commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences, aligns seamlessly with our mission. Gabe DeMong

Analyst

Gabe graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Analytics and a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science, with a minor in Computer Science. After entering the world of insurance with an internship at Co-operators, Gabe found his way to Navigate, where he has been for the past year. He takes pride in his ability to help clients navigate complex insurance options, ensuring they receive personalized solutions that fit their individual needs.

Outside of work, Gabe enjoys ultimate frisbee, jiu-jitsu, and spending weekends with his wife.

Dany Montenegro

Dany is a dynamic Marketing Associate at Navigate, leveraging her strong administrative background to enhance our team’s efforts. As one of our newer members, she has quickly made her mark by effectively taking groups to market and collaborating with insurance carriers to secure the best premium options for our clients. Dany is passionate about relationship-building, and she plays a crucial role in supporting our advisors by managing proposals and streamlining their workload.

When she’s not at work, Dany enjoys expressing her creativity through crafting, diving into her family genealogy research, and cherishing time spent with her loved ones and pets. Her enthusiasm and dedication contribute significantly to our mission at Navigate Benefit Solutions!
